Giving Back

Being Yardnique means giving back.
It’s just part of the landscape.

An important part of our business and to everyone at Yardnique is giving back. You can find our team actively participating in fundraisers, community events, walkathons, bake sales, and school programs. If we can lend a helping hand, we are there.  We just may need to wash up first – after all, we are busy most days creating amazing landscapes and keeping HOA communities in perfect shape.

ANGEL TREE For Kids

One of the most fulfilling activities we do as a team during holiday season, is to bring back the angel tree for young children in the Yardnique family. In any given year, we have provided gifts for over 120 kids!

CELEBRATING 34TH ANNUAL NATIONAL NIGHT OUT!

We had the privilege of joining one of our neighborhoods in celebrating the 34th annual National Night Out (NNO). NNO is a community-building event to promote partnerships with neighborhoods and local law enforcement agencies. To learn more about this campaign and how you can support and event near you, go to https://natw.org/.

CAROLINA PRESERVE EARTH DAY

Yardnique hosted an Earth Day celebration for the residents of Carolina Preserve in Bradford Hall. With help from the property management company, Landarc, we were able to provide a cookout with hamburgers and included an educational presentation on ornamental shrubs and turf pests and a container gardening seminar for the homeowners. All the food and plant material for the event was provided by Yardnique.

YARDNIQUE BIKE TEAM RIDES TO HONOR FALLEN HEROES

Yardnique’s bicycling team supports several amazing causes by participating in fundraising bike events. One is the Annual Five-O Memorial Bicycle Ride hosted by the Raleigh Police Memorial Foundation to honor Raleigh police officers who have given the ultimate sacrifice.

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY HOME BUILDERS BLITZ 2015!

Yardnique, along with our partner Waste Solutions, was privileged to help Habitat for Humanity of Wake County with the annual Home Builders Blitz. During the Blitz, 5 homes were built in just 7 days and all the landscaping was “Yardnique”.

TERRACOTTA POTS WITH RESIDENTS IN CAROLINA ARBORS

It was one of the coldest days of the year but the Yardnique team and Carolina Arbors residents were toasty warm inside with a “hands on” workshop for distressing terracotta pots.

Aged and distressed terracotta pots have a romantic appeal with their natural aging process.

Residents were introduced to a number of ways to change the look of terra cotta pot with faux painting, sanding and how an application of candle wax keeps paint from chipping.

Yardnique supplied all of the materials and it was a great way to start off the morning with neighbors.

MAGNOLIA WREATH WORKSHOP AT CAROLINA PRESERVE

Nothing says Carolina like a Magnolia Wreath! The Yardnique team hosts its annual wreath making workshop for the residents in Carolina preserve. Wreaths are completed in early December. Everyone leaves with a beautiful new wreath and it’s the perfect way to start the decorating for the holiday season! Yardnique supplied everything needed for the project including wreath forms, fresh magnolia clippings, other assorted greenery and finishing ribbon.

YARDNIQUE BIKE MS

Yardnique had the honor of sponsoring a team to ride in Bike MS, a ride in historic New Bern, NC. Yardnique has sponsored a team to ride in the event for over 10 years to raise funds to help fight Multiple Sclerosis. Every year we increase participation and most recently the Yardnique team raised over $35,000!

BUILT TO HONOR – 9-11-2014

Yardnique is honored to participate in Built to Honor, an amazing endeavor in which local home builders and contractors build homes for severely wounded combat veterans and their families. Custom-built to accommodate the specific needs of each disabled veteran, we are making better homes for those who have experienced life-changing events. Yardnique landscaping can be found at the new home built for US Marine Corps Corporal Nathan Jakubisin who was injured in combat. In a special ceremony, Built to Honor presented Corporal Jakubisin and his family with the keys to a custom-built home. In attendance, along with many volunteers and corporate donors, was the Governor of North Carolina.
